Birthday Wishes

With summer brings family reunions. One of our traditions at my family reunion is an auction. We all bring things to be auctioned to fund the next year’s reunion! (Auctions are definitely on the list of my favorite junkin’ places.)

Well I knew Judy’s birthday was coming up and I really wanted to find something special for Camp Gypsy.

Let the bidding commence I found the perfect gift to give Judy from our family!

The decor had changed from yellow, grey, and white to turquoise, cream, and brown. From chevron to a softer more romantic lace, flowers, and angle wings (with a little twist of country cowboy for Bob).
These crocheted lace, cream colored, pillow shams were exactly what Camp Gypsy needed. They were king size so the two of them would fit perfect across the back of the bed.

The girls were so excited to wrap them up and present them to her.
Happy Birthday Judy!

Hearing God Laugh

I had High dreams of having it much further along by the time they arrived from Florida but life happens.

"You wanna here God laugh, tell him your plan!"

Turns out that if I had gotten what I wanted, and the trailer had been finished before they came back to Wyoming, I would have missed out on so much!

The idea of finding something refers to the journey we take as much as what we find in the end. When this journey started the camper wasn't exactly headed towards becoming Camp Gypsy  .

Here are a few sample pictures of what I originally had in mind;

 A designs of Grey, White, & Yellow

 Like I said, I would have missed all the wonderful memories being made as we take the journey of finding Camp Gypsy...

One of my favorite blessing along this journey has been that the memories this lil camper sparked. Many days after working in the morning and taking a break as the day heats up, Bob & Judy will share a story of the early days in their marriage. Of a time when Bob's Grandma and Grandpa had a camp trailer just like this one. Those stories lead into other stories. (I need to get a recorder before these family stories are lost)

I feel blessed that I am not missing all of this!

I have a little habit of searching an idea word (like space saving, or turquoise, or lace)  on the internet and selecting image and scrolling through pictures to get ideas. I found that Judy liked for us to look through them together. I started to save the ones she really liked to my phone. We go out to the camper in the cooler evening and talk about the ideas and how we could do different things in the camper. Many times I go next door to find her sitting in the camper or working again on it. Her smile and her excitement are contagious.

There was one idea I had that I really thought would be a neat touch. I had seen it on a TV show. They had made a homemade chandelier for a vehicle. I thought it would be so perfect above the bed in the camper. After sharing the idea with Judy we just had to go watch the TV show (I record them, yes I am that sappy :)....lol... Poor Bob just shook his head and said he had something or another he needed to do and left the house..lol
This has become another cherished time we share.

Before long we realized that this was no longer just a lil cute camper and Judy said, "That's what I want to call it, "Camp Gypsy!" So from that point forward it has been called Camp Gypsy. However, we are still on the journey to find just exactly what Camp Gypsy will be....

Here are some of the inspiration ideas;
